President, The Erie Community Foundation
Michael Batchelor has served the Erie Community Foundation since 1990. Over time, assets grew from $20 to $200 million. Named endowments grew from 53 to 700. Under his leadership, the Erie Community Foundation has become a recognized regional leader on issues of poverty, access to post-secondary education and training, access to health care and neutral research. He also established four regional affiliates and a nonprofit capacity building program.
Mike has on-site consulting experience with dozens of community foundations and is active in state and national field governance. He received BS in Journalism and an MA in Public Policy Analysis. He and his wife Tammy have two children; Jake (age 23) and Chris who passed away at age 15.
Mr. Batchelor was appointed to the board of the Great Lakes Protection Fund in July of 2013.
