Peter Gove

Retired executive, St. Jude Medical, Inc.

Peter L. Gove held executive positions with Control Data Corporation and St. Jude Medical, Inc. He retired from St. Jude in 2005 as Vice President of Corporate Relations and a corporate officer. He has served on several development-stage medical technology boards.

Mr. Gove was Minnesota Governor Wendell R. Anderson’s environmental assistant, Executive Director of the Pollution Control Agency and a founding member of the Environmental Quality Council before working on Anderson’s U.S. Senate staff as Legislative Director and thereafter as Chief, Office of Legislation for the U.S. National Park Service.

Mr. Gove was the chairman of the Mississippi River Coordinating Commission appointed by the Secretary of the Interior to develop the general management plan for the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. He was the principal founder of Friends of the Mississippi River (FMR), and remains a board member. Peter chairs the National Parks Conservation Association’s Upper Midwest Council. He is the past chair of the St Croix River Association board and The Trust for Public Land’s Minnesota Advisory Board. Mr. Gove is a Trustee of Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin.

Mr. Gove is a magna cum laude graduate of Princeton University and the Stanford University Executive MBA program.

Mr. Gove was appointed to the board of the Great Lakes Protection Fund in September of 2012.
