A GLPF-funded team led by ECT, Inc. describes the elements of a business model for operating a green infrastructure “aggregator” that designs, finances, builds and/or operates portfolios of projects to attain various objectives.
In their recent white paper (below), they detail insight into how different performance features of green infrastructure can be described in an operating profile, and how different profiles create market opportunities. Their business model framework describes where value is created, how various potential buyers and sellers can come together, and where (and how) private capital can earn returns. Most importantly, this work creates a common language to further, and continuously improve, the discussions around the deployment and financing of green infrastructure.
