This team worked with the Great Lakes Cities initiative and restoration strategy, as well as with representatives of other Fund-sponsored projects. The team compiled a briefing paper on the risks posed by the waterborne transportation system and hosted a conference in September 2004. This work supported the team’s successful creation of a new basin institution—the Great Ships Initiative.
